6:50 PM, a performance gym in Jupiter, post-class. The owner — call her Rae, 39, ten years in, two locations — is having the conversation she has every quarter with her front-desk board: cold plunge quote ($14k plus plumbing), sauna quote ($22k plus a wall she'd have to move), compression boots (owned, popular, three pairs, permanently booked). Her members ask for recovery constantly; her square footage and capital plan disagree constantly. The modality she keeps hearing about from her 40-something crowd — "my buddy gets IVs after big weeks" — is the one thing on the list she can add without touching the building.
The zero-build-out modality
That's the structural pitch: every other recovery service is an installation — capital, plumbing, maintenance, permanent floor space. A mobile IV partnership is a scheduling arrangement. Nurses arrive on program days with everything (including chairs if the room needs them), run sessions in a private space, and leave the room as they found it. No build-out, no depreciating asset, no quote from a contractor. For a studio watching its per-square-foot math, the difference is the entire decision.
The plunge costs $14k and a wall. The partnership costs a room for four hours and a calendar entry.
How programs actually run
Three formats, mix as fits: the monthly member recovery day — nurses on-site, members book slots through your existing system, private room, the studio's most talked-about Saturday; programming-timed sessions — the day after a competition, the end of a challenge cycle, the peak week of a summer block, which is when the athletes actually need it and when uptake is highest; and a standing member rate for at-home bookings, which converts the partnership into an ongoing member benefit rather than an event. Best fits: performance gyms, CrossFit and HYROX affiliates, boutique HIIT studios with challenge cycles, endurance and triathlon clubs, and any studio whose demographic skews 35-plus — where recovery is already the conversation the coaching staff is having anyway.
The honesty clause (which protects your brand)
One condition worth insisting on with any wellness partner, including us: no performance-miracle claims to your members. The defensible version — real rehydration and mineral restoration for genuinely depleted athletes, complementing the sleep-food-training foundation rather than replacing it — is the version that survives scrutiny, and it's the only version a serious coach should let near their floor. Your members trust your programming judgment; a partner who oversells borrows that trust and spends it. We'd rather your coaches be able to explain honestly what the service is for, and when a member is better served by an extra night of sleep.

Rae's Saturday
The plunge quote is still on the board. The recovery day launched in six weeks: one private room, twelve slots, sold out, repeated monthly, timed to challenge cycles ever since. Her front-desk summary, delivered to another owner at a conference: "Zero capital, zero plumbing, one room on a Saturday. It's the only recovery amenity I've added that didn't need a contractor — and the 40-year-olds treat it like the reason they renewed."
